What is the lesson in this event?
There will be plenty of dissection in the days, weeks, and months to come… lots of monday morning quarterbacking, most of which will be useless and unwarranted.
The important lesson as I see it, is that it re-enforces that LOVE is the highest power in the universe and it is that which we must set as our ultimate calling. To treat each other as we would have ourselves be treated.
That isn’t just a statement of faith but rather a sound principle that would solve much of the worlds hurt if it was adopted by the masses.
Love one another. Practice forgiveness.
Love. It’s all that matters.

My friend and superstar VA Erin Blaskie of BSETC., has put together an aweseome ebook.
To quote from Erin’s site: “This 80+ page e-book, “30 Days of Delegation“, will teach you HOW to delegate, WHAT to delegate and WHO to delegate the work to.”
Successful business owners know that delegation is an important key to success. You shouldn’t do things you aren’t good at, don’t have to do, or (in some cases) don’t want to do.
I just had it printed and bound and gave it a read. It’s great for two reasons. First, it shows you how you can delegate away time consuming services to a VA. Second, it is a great example of marketing because it shows off Erin’s creativity which puts her above other VA’s who simply provide a very long list of services but don’t attempt to educate.
You can get it here. Its costs $37 and well worth the cost.
(Now, it’s an ebook so I could just email it to you, but I won’t, so please don’t ask. A lot of work went into this publication and if you’re too cheap to spend $37 to save $$$ in your business…. I don’t suspect you’ll be in business very long.)
Happy delegating!

from John C. Maxwell’s book ‘Ethics 101′ (p. 92)
- Care more then others think is wise
- Risk more then others think is safe
- Dream more then others think is practical
- Expect more than others think is possible
- Work more than others think is necessary

What is it with hotel bathtubs? There’s sooo small!
Now, I know that I’m a big guy. I’m 6′0 tall, 2xx lbs (did you really think I was going to tell you?). Anyway, sometimes I feel like I am going to get STUCK! When I go to get out I can hear the *suuuuck*ing…. <sigh> Would it hurt to make them a little bigger?
On a nicer note, I’ve just checked into my second hotel on this little adventure of mine and I’m in the executive suite. Top floor. Awesome shower, so that’ll make up for the bathtub… which is still small despite the $200 / night I am paying.

I drove from Kingston to the little town of Renfrew, Ontario to see my friend Erin today. Erin’s a top-notch virtual assistant that I met last year while helping one of her clients at a business event. We spent the afternoon together and had a ton of fun. Isn’t it fun getting to know someone?
Anyway, back to the marshmallows. At lunch we were discussing what each of us likes to drink. I don’t drink coffee. Erin does. I get my caffiene from pop (which isn’t good I know). I also don’t drink hot water. I don’t like hot water, don’t see the point. The only thing I like is hot chocolate when it’s done properly and not just coloured water.
I lamented that a lot of the instant-powder-based HC has these stupid dehydrated marshallows (it’s like that dehydrated astronaut food). They don’t plumb and they don’t improve the fact that you’re drinking coloured water.
Anyway, Erin was kind enough to make a me a nice hot mug o’HC complete with REAL mini-marshmallows. It was awesome, better then the cup I got at Starbucks yesterday (I mean that!).
Fight for real drinks! If you can’t find it, drink COLD water!

This is called a Flowerpot. It stands on the edge of Flowerpot Island near Tobermory, Ontario. The top of the flowerpot used to be the top of the island. Over time erosion slowly carved away the rest and left these cool (and very tall) structures.
Eventually they will topple over as well. Thankfully, it wasn’t that day when I was standing right underneath it.

Ok, if these photos don’t melt your heart you’re spending too much time in the cold.
These are from a friend of mine Talie (awesome graphic/web designer). These are her horses and the barn cat. If only us humans could set aside our differences this easily.

In a previous post I sang the praises of two woman doing BIG things, so I figured it was only fair to do the same for the guys.
First, Michael Port. Michael is the guy to call when you’re tired of thinking small. He’s got some great programs in the areas of marketing and non-traditional selling. Check him out.
Second is good friend of mine Tshombe (yes, he has a last name, but his first is so unique, who needs a last name). He’s the creator and moderator of The Inspiration Nation. This is a great community and I encourage you to check it out for your dose of inspiration.
Ok, now there is balance back in the world.
